Troubadour or Twoubadou? Does it really matter, for the magical society of the Middle-Ages has gained the turquoise coasts of Haiti Chérie. Lyrical-poets-turned-musicians have re-introduced us to the simple sounds and beats of our native land through the harmonious melodies of Troubadour music. From the heyday of solo Haitian Troubadours to the modern renaissance of the movement with Haiti Twoubadou, Haiti has never seen so many artists from all walks of life uniting for such a project. Set against a back-drop of modern-day political complexities and economic fiascoes, the architects of this movement have rekindled the flame of hope and patriotism long lost in most of us: It’s a war cry for the troops to rally and rebuilt the mother nation left in shambles.
