Evans Paul, also known as Compère Plume; shortened as K-Plume (KP), is one of the founding members of KID.

KID started out as a populist political party in Haiti, originating as a political pressure group in 1986 and formally becoming a political party in 1995.

KID was part Convergence Démocratique (CD) a coalition of political parties in Haiti formed in 2000. This coalition became a significant opposition force against the government of then-President Jean-Bertrand Aristide and his Lavalas Family party.
