Message from Consulate General of Haiti in Chicago

Joe Alfred Haiti Nation - September 9 2008, 9:11 AM

The Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in Chicago presents
its compliments to all the compatriots and friends of Haiti in the
Mid-West and West of the United States of America and dutifully
communicates to them the decisions taken by the Government of the
Republic in order to help them with the forwarding of their
assistance to Haiti following the devastations caused in a short time
by one tropical storm and two hurricanes.

After being hit by Fay and Gustav, Haiti had to endure the
fury of hurricane Hanna and its violent floods.

Most regions of the
country are deeply affected.

Now more than ever, Haiti needs our
solidarity.

According to the precise instructions of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs, any material assistance destined for the victims
must be sent, at the sender's expense, to:

Ministère des Affaires Etrangères
Palais de la Chancellerie
Port-au-Prince, Haïti

This will ease the customs formalities and facilitate the
distribution process in collaboration with the Direction of
Population Protection.

All monetary contributions must be sent to the Consulate
General of Haiti in Chicago located at 11 E. Adams St., Suite 1400,
Chicago, Il 60603.

Checks or better yet money orders must be made
payable to: « Ministère des Affaires Etrangères d'Haïti. » The
Consulate will forward them.

In the anticipation of one more gesture of generosity, the
Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in Chicago hereby
reiterates to you its warmest appreciation.
